Is Empire Total War fixed? Discussion in 'PC Gaming' started by Northern Lawn, Oct 10, 2009. I played for about two hours as GB and there doesn't seem to be any issues removing the new patch sound. Empire total war. Minor patch to fix this audio bug.

I've hear about some problem with memory (apparently, 'It has nothing to do with how much RAM you have or how much virtual memory you have. There is only a fixed amount of addresses available for a 32 bit application like empire and that is 2GB, regardless if you are on a 32 bit or 64 bit OS'). I played this game about 200 hours (not registered in Steam, because back then I have problems with my internet connection, so I played it in offline mode) So, to prevent crashes, you open CMD, and type 'bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2700', and hit enter.

At least, that worked for me. No more crashes after doing that.

135 hours into a game. And I can't finish. Folder followed by the 'Empire Total War' folder.it's the thing that looks. For an official patch to fix it.

You can read more about this, and how to revert the command here. Also, check out an app called CFF Explorer from ntcore and follow these instructions (adjusted for Empire of course): This also works great for Civilization 4., Europa Universalis 3. (maybe not multiplayer due to crc hash.idk), and Rome Total War. where even 3000+2000 vs 2500+10,000 is no problem (that's initial on the field followed by reinforcements over the course of the battle).

I did it for Empire, too, even though a note in the post Diabolusdixit linked states that the devs released a 64bit-safe patch which means you shouldn't have to with Empire if you have a 64bit OS. Either make a copy of the exe (copy/paste right there in the Empire folder) before you use CFF Explorer or tell Steam to verify the cache to undo the changes. To get there (with Vista or 7) you can right click on the Steam icon, click 'Open file location', then open the 'steamapps' then the 'common'.folder followed by the 'Empire Total War' folder.it's the thing that looks like the game launch icon if you have file extensions off.:P Edit: Keep in mind this may not fix the problem. I had a game as England that would constantly lock up on turn 76/77 when it was Russia's turn.going back 4 turns didn't seem to fix it or only delayed it a few turns.;/ My solution was to play as Sweden and start stomping Russia in the face as soon as the game started.
