Okay so I have a bunch of movies that I am converting from mkv to mp4 so i can play them on my ps3. Converting MKV to Mp4. The gotsent file is gone.

Lol to save u from talking to urself forever ill help. Tbh i reckon u have done something wrong as for me GOTsent worked straight out the box after installing ac3filter, and only outputs two files if it totals more then 4gb. I would look back through your settings (even though off the top of my head i cant think of any.) btw did u name that folder yourself? The one gotsent outputs to? Mine does not do that automatically - so is possible you are looking in the wrong place.

Possibly check you are using latest version aswell. At the end of the process they get put back into a single file.

Mp4 i believe, yours sounds like it didnt finish. It should say conversion done in gotsent and the command boxes should have all disappeared, am sure they all close in the step before the end and then gotsent joins the files. If it never joins them go back to the site and double check the instructions and make sure theres nothing that you have missed, mine has worked perfectly besides trying to set ac3 to 5.1 surround (causing it to fail with no errors took me ages to figure out the prob) Also im sure the output before they are joined is.wav make sure you have ac3 selected and is on 2 stereo as a test unless you know another sound option definetly works.

When my audio was failing there were no messages, i only knew it was the audio because i used Red Kawa with the console turned on (i do not know how to get error messages to display in gotsent but then i didnt look just thought it had stopped working), and then remember i had changed the audio output to 5.1, changed it to the next best option in my eyes and left 'As is' this completed but audio was just wrong, it didnt even closely match what was on the screen. In the end from memory i set the output to 2 Stereo, double check your ac3filter settings. I am not sure why you get 2 mkv files when it should be changing it to mp4 container though, if i had it in front of me I would post some screens if i remember when i get home ill do it for u then.

Should work with 1080p afaik, will have to try one later aswell have shrek 3 but my comp drops frames so streaming is the future i think. Thanks for the link Ill read it now. I have just tried the MPEG4 GOTSent produced file with TVersity streaming to my XBox360 and it worked great, CPU only averages around 20% so no buffering problems this time like MKV. Whilst it streamed I tried converting another file from mkv to Mp4 and that worked fine with stuttering of the media only occuring in the final phase when the audio and visual is stitched up, and only lasted 15 seconds or so. So thats one way to optimise viewing/converting time. 720p on my Samsung 40M86 looks superb, going back to the SD stuff is somewhat disappointing, annoying that its broadcast in the quality in the states.

Convert mkv files to avi free

My xbox still isn't seeing my converted MPEG 4 files that I did using MKVXenon/XenonMKV. I've renamed them replacing the last section of the name with.avi Currently trying to update my WMP 11 library for new video. Only thing I can think of is that I get an error box coming up saying MP4 Box had to close unexpectedly - dont know what that is, possibly something to do with the conversion process with XenonMKV? Any help would be much appreciated - we were going to try and watch this stuff later. Cheers mate, I'll try that, but have also sussed out something myself which may be of help to others. In the XenonMKV options, under 'Last Stage' I think it is, you have options regarding the MP4Box part of the process.

There must be known issues, as it gives you the option to revert to the previous version of MP4Box, if it crashes. So, I chose this, then on the same tab you can make it automatically change the file name from mp4 to avi, so the Xbox 360 can now see it - which mine does!!! Tried it, looks stunning, but it appears to be stuttering and buffering, however I'm hoping this is due to me downloading some other stuff at the same time - when I play it I'll shut everything else off, hopefully it should be stable. My 85mps homeplugs should be able to handle 720p HD streaming video ok yeah? Thanks for your help guys.

How to quickly convert MKV to MP4 file using VLC? 21:17 Fri 22 Jan 2016 Do you have a video in MKV file and you can't open it because some program (like Sony Vegas Pro) doesn't support this format? If so, you probably wonder how to convert it into some different format. I just discovered a way to do this. To understand this method, first you need to know that media file formats are just containers (for example, MKV is ). Each format encapsulates a set of streams, usually one video and one audio stream. Now, each stream is encoded using some specific codec.

There may be various codecs used, but for the file I needed to convert, Media Player Classic (my favorite movie player, installed with K-Lite Codec Pack) shows following information after selecting File Properties: Type: Matroska Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 720x400 25fps V: English eng (h264 main L4.0, yuv420p, 720x400) default Audio: AAC 44100Hz stereo A: aac lc, 44100 Hz, stereo default MPEG4 Video is the same codec that may be used with MP4 file format! It means we could convert ('repack') the file to just different container format, rewriting streams as-is without actually converting video or audio - which should be very fast (converting a long movie takes only few seconds) and wouldn't cause any quality loss. To do that, I used.

This program has its own set of codecs for many video and audio formats, so it doesn't depend on codecs installed in Windows. The player is actually just an overlay on top of a powerful library that can also do different things, like streaming video over network (that's probably where the company name 'VideoLAN' comes from) or convert files. So to convert an MKV file to MP4:.

Run 'VLC media player'. From main menu select 'Media' 'Convert / Save.' . On 'File' tab, click 'Add.' .

Choose you MKV file. After that, it should be added to the list. (Alternatively, you can drag&drop a file into the list.). Click 'Convert/Save' button. Select Profile: 'Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)'. Click on the icon button that has hint: 'Edit selected profile'.

On 'Encapsulation' tab, leave 'MP4/MOV' selected. On 'Video codec' tab, check both 'Video' and 'Keep original video track'. On 'Audio codec' tab, similarly select both 'Audio' and 'Keep original audio track'. Click 'Save' button.

In 'Destination' selection, click 'Browse' button to select directory and file name for you destination MP4 file. Click 'Start' button. Observe progress bar in the main window as file is converted.

After that, my VLC (version 2.2.1) seems to hang in an infinite loop so I have to kill it using system 'Task Manager', but it doesn't matter - the destination file is already created. Comments.
