Life

Hello everyone Here is our full american summer tour With BORN OF OSIRIS, VOLUMES and WIDOWMAKER 6/24 Providence, Rhode Island @ Fete Music Hall 6/25 New York, New York @ The Gramercy Theatre 6/27 Columbus, Ohio @ Park Street Saloon 6/29 St. We cannot put into words just how grateful we are for all of the love and positivity we have received since the release of 'The Resilient'; the press, the media, our workforce, and most importantly you, the fans, our very foundation. Two years ago we as a band took a long hard look at ourselves and where we were, it wasn't easy to admit that we may not have made all of the right choices, to realise that it was going to take some real hard work and self criticism to pull ourselves up to be who and where we wanted to be. And here we are. The past two years spent making this album, an album that we believe holds the very spirit of BTM within, has been an awakening, never have we worked so hard, never have we felt so close to one another, never have our minds been so clear and focused on our goals and our direction; The Resilient is a product of who we are, who we once were, and who we ALWAYS will be.

The reaction to this release has been incredible, this positivity is the fuel to the flames that keeps us burning bright year after year, and we're burning brighter now than ever! Thank you to every single person who has supported us on our way. You may bend us, but will NOT break us, We are ALL The Resilient. The Resilient is available online. Video's been directed by the allmighty Igor Omodei, this is the best video clip we've ever released. You can find it on Youtube, Itunes, Google Music, everywhere, just follow the link. Don't hesitate to tell us what you think of this song on our social media.

And if you liked it, please, have your friends take a listen! Itunes: Amazon: Google Play: We can't wait to play this song live for you! BTM Victor, Baptiste, Val, Boris, Aaron and Lucas. As some of you may have noticed, our adored drummer and friend Mark Mironov is no longer a present part of the BTM line-up; this comes as a result of on-going VISA issues with Mark being a citizen of Russia.

The increased difficulties became a heavy weight on the band, both in terms of consistency, and financially too. Betraying The Martyrs has been a band based on solidarity from day one, and although it comes with a heavy heart to announce Mark's departure, we are proud to announce our new drummer and brother Boris Le Gal as part of the family! Boris brings to the band a new dynamic of technical ability, unique style, along with a shared vision of artistic direction that brings our potential to new heights! We are back stronger than ever with an album that is certain to blow all expectations out of the water, thank you all so much for your understanding and support, and welcome our friend Boris with open arms! Much love, BTM Aaron, Victor, Lucas, Baptiste, Val and Boris!! Born in Paris, baptiste has been raised and educated in a Christian family and school. Always thoughtful and kind-hearted to people, he always had an eye turned over America and England.

At 15, When he created his first band in high school with his long time best-friend Lucas D'angelo (Black Curtains) their goal was really simple: play as many shows as possible and visit as many cities as they could while playing the music they loved. After more than 500 shows and many tours around the planet, his goals are still the same. Bapt is one of the 3 remaining founder members of BTM (along with Victor and Valentin). His ability to write, heavy, crushing riffs that stick in your head and his sense of the groove has made this left-handed player one of France's finest rythm guitarist.

On top of playing guitar, his love for cheesecake, pizza, cookies, French food (and video games) is legendary! Born and raised in Paris, guitarist and producer Lucas D'Angelo was born into a family of musicans and has been learning the ins and outs of music since he was just 3 years old. Growing up in this environment quickly taught him a great sense of professionalism and hard work ethic. At the age of 15 he formed his first metal band, Black Curtains with his childhood friend Baptiste Vigier where they both started working on their common love for heavy riffing and melodies.

A few years later he joined Betraying The Martyrs, and instantly became an essential part of the band as lead guitarist and backing singer. He is also a well versed producer, having recorded the band's first two albums and mixed the eagerly awaited third full length release. As for now, Lucas enjoys playing music, mixing music and drinking fine wine. Boris comes from Nantes, France. After spending 2 years in a classical school he bought his 1st drumkit in 1999 to satisfy his thirst of playing metal music. He then formed Open Hardcore band Bumbklaat (2002) and also joined Death metal outfit R.A.Z.

Eager to learn more about his instrument and become a professional drummer, he enrolled the Dante Agostini Drum Jazz School for 4 years and then moved to London to join Drumtech's Master Performance Course in 2008 to further perfect his skills. His unique style of drumming is a mixture of technique, subtlety and raw power. Wether he's crushing metal beats or playing elaborate grooves, he always keep the big picture in mind and does everything to serve the song as a whole. In 2011 Boris joined Djent pioneer Chimp Spanner, his love for playing other people’s music brought him to play for acts such as Periphery, The Algorithm and more as a session to open his musical culture.

That’s how he met the guys from Betraying The Martyrs as he’s been a session for them since 2013. Boris officially joined his new brothers in 2016 and has instantly become a very powerful and essential addition to the BTM family and he heavily participated to the writing and musical direction of their 3rd LP. Boris has one not-so-secret dream: to be the first drummer to ever play on Mars! Born and raised in Leicester, UK, Aaron found a passion for the intensity of metal as a way to vent the frustrations he faced growing up. He would come to meet the band whilst playing shows in the UK with his former band, which would lead to a series of events that would eventually allow him to leave a life of factory labour behind and follow his dreams alongside his new brothers in Paris, and around the world. Officially joining the band and moving to France in 2010, Aaron developed his own vocal style and way of writing that would furthermore give him the voice and the release it would take to overcome personal pains, and work towards becoming the best person and frontman he could be. Valentin was born in Paris, France.

When he was 14 he stumbled upon 'Ride The Lightning' from Metallica while on a trip to California. He's been a metalhead since then. As soon as he got back to France he picked up bass, as he figured out there were far more guitar players than bass players, so no matter what he would always find a band. Within two weeks after getting his instrument he joined a band and did his first gig, having no clue to what he was doing.

He played with several bands, from prog, to tech death metal— all of his bands teaching him a different aspect of musicianship. For him, the best place to be at a metal show is on stage, giving as much energy as possible while sipping beer in between/during songs. He joined Betraying The Martyrs in 2008, right at the beginning and has been an active member since then, providing bass lines and numerous drinking games. His goal is still the same: rock on stage, drink beers and be the most metal bassist possible. His love of medieval sword fighting and cats are hard to combine with his playing, as he can't legally take his swords on tour nor bring his cat.

From the rural south of France, Victor started playing the Piano as a kid. The instrument became a new best friend after a family drama, a way to express his emotions and to canalise his sensibility. Then the music became a whole new passion. He started to practice singing as well as playing other instruments and Metal music became obvious as the best way for him to release the strength of his feelings. As a teenager, after he received his diploma from the conservatory, he decided to start writing his own songs and left the country side for bigger cities, his head filled with dreams. He started in Lyon where he had his first band, The Beverly Secret and toured Europe for the first time. Then he went to Paris where he started Betraying The Martyrs with Eddie, BTM's founding vocalist.

Victor brought his touring experience and musical ability to the band and never stopped persevering to bring the band and himself to a higher level. He also released a special piano and synth masterclass available.

Then followed 2014 sophomore album ‘Phantom', with standout tracks like ‘Legends Never Die’ and the crazy cover of ‘Frozen’s 'Let it Go”; ‘ hantom' opened up the band to an entirely new audience. With this album BTM stepped up and unleashed a live show whose intensity proved hard to be matched. The band had become a venerable freight-train of aggression. Blazing harmonies, captivating hooks and bombastic off-time precision led them to conquer festivals like Graspop, With Full Force, Resurrection Fest and many more.
